Born in 1998. Raised in Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Completed his BFA in Sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2021, followed by his MFA in Sculpture in 2025.
Yokote's practice is rooted in the emotions stirred by the landscapes and events of his immediate surroundings: presence and absence, non-verbal exchanges, minute existences and phenomena that flicker on the edge of perception.
Drawn to both the material world and the invisible forces that move beneath it, Yokote, with a quiet gaze, lifts individual existences buried within larger collectives and uncovers the multiple currents of time that run through them.
As the human and non-human, present and memory, reality and imagination flow naturally into the same space, this quiet resonance with others reflects an attitude toward the spaces in between—through which a deeper connection between ourselves, society, and the world quietly emerges.
